ES
The ES serves as the base-level 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross trim. Regardless of the model, the SUV is powered by a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, which produces 152 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. It is hooked up to a continuously variable transmission (CVT), which eschews the traditional gear-shifting mechanism for a smoother and more fuel-efficient operation.
With the compact engine and smooth-operating CVT, fuel economy is above average, peaking at an EPA-estimated 26 MPG in the city and 29 MPG on the highway with the standard front-wheel-drive system. You can opt for an all-wheel-drive system, which sends power to all four wheels to optimize traction.
A five-seater, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross ES provides two fabric-trimmed rows, with a 60/40 split-folding design on the rear seats to expand cargo room when needed. For entertainment, the SUV comes with a four-speaker AM/FM stereo system with HD Radio technology and a seven-inch display. Bluetooth® is also on board for hands-free calling and audio streaming, and a USB port provides a connection for playing media from your smartphone or any other compatible mobile device.
Seven airbags-a knee airbag for the driver, two frontal impact airbags facing the driver and front passenger, two side impact airbags installed on the front seats, and two side curtain airbags on the roof-provided restraint and cushioning when needed during a collision. The airbags are joined by:
- Rearview camera for safely backing out of somewhere
- Hill start assist for safe driving up a hill when shifting from a parked position
- Four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes for exceptional brake performance and stopping power
- Electronic stability control and traction control to keep you on the intended path of travel
Additional driver assistance features include Forward Collision Mitigation with pedestrian detection and Lane Departure Warning. For security, Mitsubishi combines remote keyless entry and engine immobilization for an anti-theft system.
LE
The LE trim level significantly elevates the 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross. Most of the enhancements appear on the infotainment system. The eight-inch display has touch ability, and you can execute functions on the touchpad controller instead of solely relying on the touchscreen.
Added on the stereo head unit are voice recognition control, Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® smartphone integration, and three months of SiriusXM® Radio. In addition, there's a second USB port for charging mobile devices and heated front seats.
It's also at the LE trim level where Mitsubishi introduces Automatic High Beams to help illuminate your drive any time of day!
SE
At the SE trim level, remote keyless entry is upgraded to proximity keyless entry with push-button engine start. That means you don't need to press the key fob to unlock the doors; all you need is to have the key fob in your possession. Plus, you no longer need an ignition key to start the engine; you simply press the push button at the lower right side of the color multi-information display. All seats have their fabric material upgraded to synthetic suede seating surfaces, automatic climate controls are extended to the front passenger, and two speakers are added for a six-speaker setup. The SE also offers 24 months of Mitsubishi Connect suite of Safeguard and Remote services that include SOS emergency assistance, roadside assistance, stolen vehicle assistance and locator, and remote lock/unlock capability. You'll also enjoy the bonus of features like a Navigation system, a Blind Spot Warning with Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and a package for a panoramic roof!
SEL
As the top-level trim, the luxury-oriented SEL is the only Eclipse Cross model with leather upholstery, eight-way power adjustability on the driver's seat, a 360-degree camera, and a head-up display.
